With 29 days left of school, we want to apologize to those of you not on Facebook who do not hear from us often. We are appreciative of our supporters and want you to know that we pray for you often! Thank you for allowing us to be here in Ethiopia working for the Lord.
The school year has been great and gone by so quickly! Jose worked hard on all of the events that take place at Bingham and also worked in housing and facilities. He helps everyone have a great place to call home and vehicles to drive! He has a heart for the staff of Bingham and loves to plan get-togethers and find ways to let everyone know they are appreciated. Please pray for him as he finds ways to reach out to staff and find ways to care for them.
Jes had a great time teaching Grade One this year. She had a wonderful class of students that was a privilege to get to know. Jessica has recently accepted a new position for next year, the Home School Coordinator. Bingham has a unique program that allows parents that home school their children to have resources, a community as well as time spent on campus. She will be in charge of resources, testing, home visits, classroom time, a conference, retreat, as well as community events. This is an exciting new role that will allow her to minister to families all over Ethiopia doing all kinds of work and ministry. It will give the opportunity to use her leadership degree and skills. It will be an awesome opportunity to work closer with people who are on the ground preaching the Gospel, translating Bibles and planting churches! Please pray for her as she transitions out of the classroom into this new role.
Audri has excelled in sports this year! She played volleyball, basketball and soccer. She found a love for sport that she didn't know existed. She also taught a dance class every Monday to kids in Grades 1-3. Her grades have been excellent and she recently told us she would like to stay and graduate from Bingham. It has been great to see her heart grow in the Lord. Please pray for her that she will continue to develop her relationship with God and balance her busy schedule.
Isaiah also played volleyball this year and was in drama and still loves music and art. His grades were the best he's ever had and he is Mr. Social as he plays with anyone and everyone every day in his free time. He has a compassionate heart for hurting people and animals. Please pray for him that he gains confidence in his abilities and grows close to the Lord.
Isabelle has made some good friendships this year and has grown a lot. She is doing well in school and has a fabulous teacher. She is looking forward to getting her hearing aids this summer when we're back in Minnesota (more on that in a bit). It is amazing to see the love that she has for her teachers and how it is returned on her. Even on the roughest of her days, her teachers take the time to pray with her and encourage her to be her best. This school is a great blessing! Please pray for her that she learns to trust in the Lord and how much He loves her. Also pray for her hearing aids and assessments that will take place this summer.
Jes and the kids will be back in Minnesota on June 16 and will fly back to Ethiopia August 15th. Jose will stay in Ethiopia until June 22 to help move out people leaving Bingham and will fly back to Minnesota. He will leave on July 20th to fly back to Ethiopia to help new families settle into life here in Ethiopia. Please pray for a car they can use while in the states and fruitful time with supporters, friends and family. We are also short by about $1,000 a month in support and would love to see that go down to 0 and be fully funded for next year! If any of you have fundraising ideas or would like to talk with us about raising your support you already give, we look forward to talking with you about that!
God is at work here in Ethiopia. It is amazing to see the relationships we continue to build here grow. Jose has been working with Horizon Boys, which helps local boys have a place to go to hear God's Word as well as financial help for school and their families. It's a great ministry to connect with these boys that do not know Jesus as their Savior. Jes had made some relationships with beggars that are regulars outside the shopping areas. She is trying to learn more Amharic so she can relate more to them about how Jesus loves them. Please pray for us while we learn more of the difficult language so we can reach more people and for the relationships to continue to grow.
Thank you again for being a huge part of this ministry. We feel blessed that you are all behind us praying for us and financially supporting us. We hope to catch up with as many of you as we can while we are back in the states. Blessings to you and your families!
Love,
